In April 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Buddha by Yu Ming. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 150,000.00 (€ 15,827.40), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Yu Ming have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Monk; Scholar By The Pond in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 600,000.00 (€ 66,037.09).
