This artwork by Yu Ming achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Hong Kong in June 2021. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Lady Boating Under Willow Tree sold for HKD 108,375.00 (€ 11,772.33) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Yu Ming have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Monk; Scholar By The Pond in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 600,000.00 (€ 66,037.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yu Ming erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Bonhams in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Lady Boating Under Willow Tree für HKD 108.375,00 (€ 11.772,33) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yu Ming auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Monk; Scholar By The Pond im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 600.000,00 (€ 66.037,09).
