The work Portrait Of Laozi by Yu Ming was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2011. The auction ended at the price of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 18,469.92), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 100,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yu Ming - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Monk; Scholar By The Pond, which sold at auction in October 2017 for HKD 600,000.00 (€ 66,037.09).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Portrait Of Laozi von Yu Ming kam im Oktober 2011 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 18.469,92) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Yu Ming mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Monk; Scholar By The Pond beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für HKD 600.000,00 (€ 66.037,09) versteigert wurde.
