Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Yu Ming achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2013. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Portrait Of Chen Zhongzi sold for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 17,792.78) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yu Ming - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Monk; Scholar By The Pond, which sold at auction in October 2017 for HKD 600,000.00 (€ 66,037.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yu Ming erzielte im Oktober 2013 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of Chen Zhongzi für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 17.792,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Yu Ming mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Monk; Scholar By The Pond beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für HKD 600.000,00 (€ 66.037,09) versteigert wurde.
