Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Surely We Have Given You A Clear Victory (Inaa Fata'hna Laka Fat'han Mubeenan) by Yousef Ahmad was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,367.44). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yousef Ahmad achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Movement of The Letter in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 73,000.00 (€ 46,891.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Surely We Have Given You A Clear Victory (Inaa Fata'hna Laka Fat'han Mubeenan) von Yousef Ahmad im Dezember 2018 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.367,44) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yousef Ahmad erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Movement of The Letter im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 73.000,00 (€ 46.891,06).
