Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Letter of Love II by Yousef Ahmad was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,266.75). Admittedly, works by Yousef Ahmad have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Movement of The Letter in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 73,000.00 (€ 46,891.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Letter of Love II von Yousef Ahmad im Dezember 2018 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.266,75) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yousef Ahmad auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Movement of The Letter im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 73.000,00 (€ 46.891,06).
