In May 2013 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Jangdockdae - Color by Yi Hwan-Kwon. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 870,000.00 (€ 86,276.56), 74% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Yi Hwan-Kwon; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Jangdockdae Daughter and Son-colour sold at auction in May 2010 with the realized price of HKD 860,000.00 (€ 89,344.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 74 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2013 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jangdockdae - Color von Yi Hwan-Kwon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 870.000,00 (€ 86.276,56) und damit 74% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Yi Hwan-Kwon; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Jangdockdae Daughter and Son-colour im Mai 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 860.000,00 (€ 89.344,33).
