The work Pumkpin - Yellow by Yayoi Kusama was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2007. It achieved a price of GBP 6,240.00 (€ 9,184.57), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 39%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yayoi Kusama achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pumpkin in April this year with an auction result of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57).

Die Arbeit Pumkpin - Yellow von Yayoi Kusama kam im März 2007 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 6.240,00 (€ 9.184,57) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 39%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pumpkin im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 30.000.000,00 (€ 30.635.869,57).
