A top price for Yayoi Kusama - as previously expected
The work Pumpkin by Yayoi Kusama was auctioned at POLY in Grand Hyatt Hong Kong in April this year. The price achieved of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 25,000,000.00 – 35,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Pumpkin is the most expensive artwork by Yayoi Kusama that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Pumpkin von Yayoi Kusama kam im April diesen Jahres bei POLY in Grand Hyatt Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 30.000.000,00 (€ 30.635.869,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 25.000.000,00 – 35.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Pumpkin das teuerste Kunstwerk von Yayoi Kusama, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
