In October 2014 Christies in London held the auction Asobi: Ingenious Creativity, Japanese Works of Art from Antiquity to Contemporary, which included the work Work, Akogare Longing, 1990'S Signed Y. Sumi And To The Reverse In Japanese Sumi Yasuo And Titled In Japanese As Above by Yasuo Sumi. The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,107.42) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yasuo Sumi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Work in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 937,500.00 (€ 108,357.66).
