In November 2015 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale), which included the work Friend And Friend (Tomo To Tomo) by Yasuo Sumi. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 812,500.00 (€ 99,235.47), 35% above the upper estimate. Other works by Yasuo Sumi have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of HKD 937,500.00 (€ 108,357.66) in May 2016 for the work Work.
