Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Temple In Green Mountain by Yang Wencong. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,581.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yang Wencong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Verdant Mountains in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 23,150,000.00 (€ 2,547,930.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Temple In Green Mountain von Yang Wencong zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.581,56) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yang Wencong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Verdant Mountains im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 23.150.000,00 (€ 2.547.930,98).
