Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Tomorrow Cloudy Sky Ii by Yang Jiechang was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 175,000.00 (€ 19,716.37). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yang Jiechang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eye Of The Storm in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 338,500.00 (€ 240,394.86).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Tomorrow Cloudy Sky Ii von Yang Jiechang im April 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 175.000,00 (€ 19.716,37) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yang Jiechang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Eye Of The Storm im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 338.500,00 (€ 240.394,86).
