Despite a disappointment, a good price for Yang Jiechang
In September 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Eye Of The Storm by Yang Jiechang for USD 338,500.00 (€ 240,394.86). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Asia at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Eye Of The Storm is the most expensive artwork by Yang Jiechang that we have observed at auction so far.
