In September 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work The Way of Tea by Xu Xi. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,375.00 (€ 4,011.92), 46% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Xu Xi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work River Landscape in May 2018 with an auction result of HKD 325,000.00 (€ 35,507.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Im September 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Way of Tea von Xu Xi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 4.011,92) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xu Xi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit River Landscape im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 325.000,00 (€ 35.507,71).
