Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Xu Xi could be acquired at Christies in New York in August this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work New York changed hands for HKD 12,600.00 (€ 1,482.15) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu Xi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work River Landscape in May 2018 with an auction result of HKD 325,000.00 (€ 35,507.71).
