Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Seven-Character Calligraphic Couplet In Running Script by Xu Shichang was sold in the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 25,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 27,500.00 (€ 2,906.96). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu Shichang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in May 2010 with an auction result of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 51,944.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Seven-Character Calligraphic Couplet In Running Script von Xu Shichang wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 25.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 27.500,00 (€ 2.906,96) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xu Shichang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 500.000,00 (€ 51.944,38).
