Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphic Couplets by Xu Shichang was sold in the Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction at POLY in Hong Kong in November 2021. The price achieved of HKD 60,000.00 (€ 6,671.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Xu Shichang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in May 2010 with an auction result of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 51,944.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplets von Xu Shichang wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy bei POLY in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 60.000,00 (€ 6.671,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xu Shichang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 500.000,00 (€ 51.944,38).
