A top price for Xu Shichang
The work Calligraphy by Xu Shichang was worth HKD 500,000.00 (€ 51,944.38) to a buyer in May 2010. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00 many times over. This high result makes Calligraphy the most expensive artwork by Xu Shichang that we have observed at auctions so far.
