This price was achieved in the auction Modern Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy at China Guardian in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 25,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Xu Shichang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in May 2010 with an auction result of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 51,944.38).

Die Arbeit Fruit And Couplet In Cursive Script von Xu Shichang war einem Käufer im Oktober 2018 HKD 80.240,00 (€ 9.035,14) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Modern Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy bei China Guardian in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 25.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xu Shichang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 500.000,00 (€ 51.944,38).
