Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Calligraphy in Running Script by Xu Shichang was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 47,500.00 (€ 5,423.86), 19% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Xu Shichang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in May 2010 with an auction result of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 51,944.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script von Xu Shichang wurde im Mai 2017 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 47.500,00 (€ 5.423,86) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xu Shichang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 500.000,00 (€ 51.944,38).
