Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy In Cursive Script by Xu Shichang was sold in the Modern Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction at China Guardian in Hong Kong in March 2019. The price achieved of HKD 35,400.00 (€ 4,016.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu Shichang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in May 2010 with an auction result of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 51,944.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy In Cursive Script von Xu Shichang wurde im März 2019 in der Auktion Modern Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 35.400,00 (€ 4.016,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xu Shichang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 500.000,00 (€ 51.944,38).
