Auction result well in line with expectations
The work White Rhino In A Bamboo Forest by Xiao Xu was sold in the 20th and 21st Century Art Afternoon Session auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. The price achieved of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 21,141.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xiao Xu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Invisibility, which sold at auction in August last year for HKD 495,600.00 (€ 62,731.68).

Die Arbeit White Rhino In A Bamboo Forest von Xiao Xu wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion 20th and 21st Century Art Afternoon Session bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 21.141,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Xiao Xu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Invisibility beobachtet, die im August letzten Jahres für HKD 495.600,00 (€ 62.731,68) versteigert wurde.
