This artwork by Xiao Xu achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2014. In the The Enchantment of Neoteric Chinese Ink auction, the work Poems from Marco Polo sold for HKD 437,000.00 (€ 44,990.42) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 180,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Xiao Xu; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Invisibility sold at auction in August last year with the realized price of HKD 495,600.00 (€ 62,731.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Xiao Xu erzielte im Oktober 2014 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Enchantment of Neoteric Chinese Ink wurde die Arbeit Poems from Marco Polo für HKD 437.000,00 (€ 44.990,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 180.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Xiao Xu; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Invisibility im August letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 495.600,00 (€ 62.731,68).
