Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Xiao Lisheng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. In the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction, the work Sleeping Monks/Calligraphy sold for HKD 52,500.00 (€ 5,735.86) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 18,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Xiao Lisheng; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sleeping Monk/Amitabha sold at auction in May 2018 with the realized price of HKD 87,500.00 (€ 9,559.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Xiao Lisheng erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings wurde die Arbeit Sleeping Monks/Calligraphy für HKD 52.500,00 (€ 5.735,86) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 18.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Xiao Lisheng; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Sleeping Monk/Amitabha im Mai 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 87.500,00 (€ 9.559,77).
