The work Monk/Calligraphy by Xiao Lisheng was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2019. It achieved a price of HKD 50,000.00 (€ 5,722.49), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Xiao Lisheng; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sleeping Monk/Amitabha sold at auction in May 2018 with the realized price of HKD 87,500.00 (€ 9,559.77).

Die Arbeit Monk/Calligraphy von Xiao Lisheng kam im Mai 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 50.000,00 (€ 5.722,49) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Xiao Lisheng; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Sleeping Monk/Amitabha im Mai 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 87.500,00 (€ 9.559,77).
