The work Luohan by Xiao Lisheng was sold in the On Wings of Song: Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from the Collection of Robert van Gulik auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2020. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 32,500.00 (€ 3,428.05), 63% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xiao Lisheng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sleeping Monk/Amitabha, which sold at auction in May 2018 for HKD 87,500.00 (€ 9,559.77).

Die Arbeit Luohan von Xiao Lisheng wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion On Wings of Song: Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from the Collection of Robert van Gulik bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 32.500,00 (€ 3.428,05) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Xiao Lisheng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sleeping Monk/Amitabha beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für HKD 87.500,00 (€ 9.559,77) versteigert wurde.
