Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Recluse in a Fishing Village by Xi Gang was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2021. The price achieved of HKD 60,480.00 (€ 6,727.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Xi Gang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape After Dong Yuan in May 2005 with an auction result of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 52,485.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Recluse in a Fishing Village von Xi Gang wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 60.480,00 (€ 6.727,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xi Gang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape After Dong Yuan im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 504.000,00 (€ 52.485,55).
