Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Landscape by Xi Gang. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,585.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xi Gang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape After Dong Yuan in May 2005 with an auction result of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 52,485.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape von Xi Gang zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.585,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xi Gang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscape After Dong Yuan im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 504.000,00 (€ 52.485,55).
