Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscapes by Xi Gang was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 20,292.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xi Gang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape After Dong Yuan, which sold at auction in May 2005 for HKD 504,000.00 (€ 52,485.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Landscapes von Xi Gang kam im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 20.292,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Xi Gang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape After Dong Yuan beobachtet, die im Mai 2005 für HKD 504.000,00 (€ 52.485,55) versteigert wurde.
