This artwork by Xi Gang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Landscape sold for HKD 437,500.00 (€ 48,152.04) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 220,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Xi Gang; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Landscape After Dong Yuan sold at auction in May 2005 with the realized price of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 52,485.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 99 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Xi Gang erzielte im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Landscape für HKD 437.500,00 (€ 48.152,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 220.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Xi Gang; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Landscape After Dong Yuan im Mai 2005 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 504.000,00 (€ 52.485,55).
