Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Christies in Paris held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Landscape after Old Masters by Xi Gang. The price achieved of HKD 37,800.00 (€ 4,416.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xi Gang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape After Dong Yuan in May 2005 with an auction result of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 52,485.55).
