Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Xi Gang could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings auction, the work Pine, Bamboo, Plum And Rock After Shen Zhou changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,235.27) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Xi Gang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape After Dong Yuan in May 2005 with an auction result of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 52,485.55).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Xi Gang konnte im September 2016 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Pine, Bamboo, Plum And Rock After Shen Zhou für USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.235,27) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xi Gang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape After Dong Yuan im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 504.000,00 (€ 52.485,55).
