Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Orchids, Bamboo And Rocks by Xi Gang. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,719.23) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Xi Gang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape After Dong Yuan in May 2005 with an auction result of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 52,485.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Orchids, Bamboo And Rocks von Xi Gang zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.719,23) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xi Gang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape After Dong Yuan im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 504.000,00 (€ 52.485,55).
