The work Chrysanthemum by Xi Gang was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2016. It achieved a price of HKD 87,500.00 (€ 10,113.38), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Admittedly, works by Xi Gang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape After Dong Yuan in May 2005 with an auction result of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 52,485.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Chrysanthemum von Xi Gang kam im Mai 2016 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 87.500,00 (€ 10.113,38) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xi Gang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape After Dong Yuan im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 504.000,00 (€ 52.485,55).
