In February this year Bonhams held the auction Coast to Coast | Live OnlineAmerican Art, including The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer, which included the work Lake Side Trees by Xavier Martinez. The »bidding war« ended at USD 637.50 (€ 601.30), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xavier Martinez achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Old Alcaiseria, Guadalajara, Mexico in June 2002 with an auction result of USD 45,410.00 (€ 46,073.46).
