Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Seated Three-Quarter-Length, In A Blue Jacket, Holding A Recorder; And Portrait Of A Lady, Seated Three-Quarter-Length, At A Harpsicord by Wybrand Hendriks was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,182.50 (€ 3,757.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Wybrand Hendriks have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Jan van Walre, full length, in a riding costume with his dog, his horse and a servant by his side; and Portrait of Maria Kops, full length, in a white dress and elaborate hat with her daughter by her side in May 2009 with an auction result of EUR 16,250.00.
