This artwork by Wu Rongguang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2015. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Poems And Motto In Regular Script sold for USD 21,250.00 (€ 19,037.81) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wu Rongguang; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy In Xingshu sold at auction in October 2013 with the realized price of HKD 275,000.00 (€ 26,096.07).
