The work Calligraphy Couplet in Running Script by Wu Rongguang was sold in the Inkspiration: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in August 2021. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 69,300.00 (€ 7,546.65), 73% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wu Rongguang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Xingshu, which sold at auction in October 2013 for HKD 275,000.00 (€ 26,096.07).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Running Script von Wu Rongguang wurde im August 2021 in der Auktion Inkspiration: Chinese Paintings Online bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 69.300,00 (€ 7.546,65) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Wu Rongguang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy In Xingshu beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für HKD 275.000,00 (€ 26.096,07) versteigert wurde.
