Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gorges by Wong Hau Kwei was sold in the Chinese Contemporary Ink auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. The price achieved of HKD 52,500.00 (€ 5,735.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wong Hau Kwei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Sail in Hong Kong Harbour in November 2021 with an auction result of HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 138,987.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Gorges von Wong Hau Kwei wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 52.500,00 (€ 5.735,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wong Hau Kwei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Sail in Hong Kong Harbour im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 138.987,33).
