Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Majestic Mount Hua by Wong Hau Kwei was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 504,000.00 (€ 59,835.62). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wong Hau Kwei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red Sail in Hong Kong Harbour, which sold at auction in November 2021 for HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 138,987.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Majestic Mount Hua von Wong Hau Kwei wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 504.000,00 (€ 59.835,62) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Wong Hau Kwei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Red Sail in Hong Kong Harbour beobachtet, die im November 2021 für HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 138.987,33) versteigert wurde.
