Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lion Rock by Wong Hau Kwei was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December this year. The price achieved of HKD 226,800.00 (€ 26,243.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 180,000.00 – 250,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wong Hau Kwei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red Sail in Hong Kong Harbour in November 2021 with an auction result of HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 138,987.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lion Rock von Wong Hau Kwei wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 226.800,00 (€ 26.243,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 180.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wong Hau Kwei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red Sail in Hong Kong Harbour im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 138.987,33).
