Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gorges and Clouds by Wong Hau Kwei was sold in the Chinese Contemporary Ink auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2016. The price achieved of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 30,464.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wong Hau Kwei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red Sail in Hong Kong Harbour in November 2021 with an auction result of HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 138,987.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Gorges and Clouds von Wong Hau Kwei wurde im November 2016 in der Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 30.464,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wong Hau Kwei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red Sail in Hong Kong Harbour im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 138.987,33).
