Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Shepherdess by Winslow Homer was sold in the American Art Online auction at Christies in New York in August 2020. The price achieved of USD 106,250.00 (€ 89,016.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winslow Homer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Where are the Boats? in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 4,572,500.00 (€ 3,918,166.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Shepherdess von Winslow Homer wurde im August 2020 in der Auktion American Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 106.250,00 (€ 89.016,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Winslow Homer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Where are the Boats? im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.572.500,00 (€ 3.918.166,24).
