Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Boy With A Stick by Winslow Homer was sold in the American Art auction at Christies in New York in May 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 77,500.00 (€ 63,555.85) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winslow Homer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Where are the Boats? in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 4,572,500.00 (€ 3,918,166.24).
