Artwork auctioned at seven times the upper estimate price
The work Face Of Man by Winner Jumalon was worth SGD 36,000.00 (€ 17,341.14) to a buyer in April 2007. This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings at Sothebys in Singapore and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of SGD 5,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Winner Jumalon; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ricochet sold at auction in October 2008 with the realized price of HKD 225,000.00 (€ 22,886.77).
