Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Wilson Irvine could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Autumn changed hands for USD 14,340.00 (€ 11,548.68) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wilson Irvine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Selden's Cove in March 2004 with an auction result of USD 59,750.00 (€ 48,608.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wilson Irvine konnte im September 2004 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Autumn für USD 14.340,00 (€ 11.548,68) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wilson Irvine auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Selden's Cove im März 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 59.750,00 (€ 48.608,85).
