Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Wooded Landscape by Wilson Irvine for USD 11,400.00 (€ 9,454.30). This price was achieved in the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Wilson Irvine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Selden's Cove in March 2004 with an auction result of USD 59,750.00 (€ 48,608.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Wooded Landscape von Wilson Irvine für USD 11.400,00 (€ 9.454,30) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wilson Irvine auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Selden's Cove im März 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 59.750,00 (€ 48.608,85).
