Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Wilson Irvine could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work A Frosty Morning changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,216.68) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wilson Irvine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Selden's Cove in March 2004 with an auction result of USD 59,750.00 (€ 48,608.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wilson Irvine konnte im September 2010 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit A Frosty Morning für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.216,68) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wilson Irvine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Selden's Cove im März 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 59.750,00 (€ 48.608,85).
