This artwork by Wilson Irvine achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2008. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Village View sold for USD 8,750.00 (€ 5,761.51) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wilson Irvine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Selden's Cove in March 2004 with an auction result of USD 59,750.00 (€ 48,608.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wilson Irvine erzielte im Februar 2008 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wurde die Arbeit Village View für USD 8.750,00 (€ 5.761,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wilson Irvine auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Selden's Cove im März 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 59.750,00 (€ 48.608,85).
